It is commonly said that “The early bird gets the worm.” Yet I like to say that the night owl gets to shoot for the stars. I would rather the stars than the worm any day and I have always been more of a dreamer anyway.
Lately I’ve thought about life and death, maybe because of losing my dad in such a sudden way we just never know when our last day will really be. Many people shy away from this topic, afraid that by some how not talking about it, it will somehow make it less likely to be real. However it is something we all will face some day. I watched on my computer a man speak about his experiences with the dying as an EMT. He said there were three things they always wanted or needed, first was forgiveness, second was that they would be remembered by there loved ones and last that they had made some small difference in the world as they knew it. I am all about application. I don’t want to wait until I am dying to look back at my life and ask these questions. I want to shoot for the stars now. Even if you are a morning person, which I obviously am not, you can still set out with a clear goal and focus to find that worm and I am aiming for my stars and I promise I won’t give you a hard time about your worms.
